"For me, the explanation of Luther for terms of Paul helped me to better understand the context."
(Thomas Frölich)

Quotations from explanation of Martin Luther from 1522 for terms, which Paul uses.

And my remarks to it.

Save yourself the PDF and take your time reading Luther's understanding of these terms and my remarks to that.

The understanding of Luther helped me to better understand the context in the letter Paul to the Romans.

It is like a key to the Holy Scripture.

Why not try it yourself once.

It could be that here waits the answer for you and helps you to a better understanding of life.

For me it was like that.

„The unbelief in the heart sins alone.“

Luther-quotation from September 1522 out of his foreword to the letter, or better epistel, Paul to Romans:

„So that, like the faith alone justifies, brings the spirit and lust to good outerly works. As so only the unbelief does sin, and rouses the flesh up and brings lust to evil outerly works, like happened to Adam and Eve in Paradise Genesis 3.“

Luther Quotations 01

I have ever had the opinion that demanding does not lead one to the better but rather to frustration.

That was why I left the cross and the church for a long time to itself because I got it as demanding.

Since only when one lets something calm down then it can get more silently. And as it is said, strength comes from calmness.

And if one lets someone also do sometimes what drives him around, then he satisfies himself and becomes more good-natured.

I was reliefed to read in Luthers words that God might see that also that way. Therefore, now I am willing to turn to the Cross and the Church again.
